The first boss fight in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is right up there with the toughest first bosses in video game history. This opening battle pits you against Zhang Liang of the Yellow Turbans, as you clash in a kinetic two-phase fight to the death. It’s an intense skill check that challenges your prowess of Wo Long’s mechanics almost immediately. In many ways, it feels like a rite of passage for the rest of the game and a bold statement of intent from developer Team Ninja. I initially loved how it forced me to adapt to the demands of the game’s particular brand of Souls-like combat, yet the further I progressed, the more this feeling dissipated as I realized that this introductory struggle was little more than an unbalanced outlier, providing a much sterner test than the bosses following it.

For many, this sudden difficulty spike will be a barrier to entry, halting progress a mere 10 minutes into the game. It’s a shame Wo Long begins with such a sturdy roadblock, not least because this initial undertaking isn’t indicative of the rest of the game moving forward. Pokemon Go developer Niantic Labs’ next game Peridot is finally launching May 9, after having been in beta in select territories for a number of months.

First announced in April last year, Peridot is the next IP from Niantic that looks to offer a Tamagotchi-like take on its AR format. Now, Niantic has announced that Peridot will launch globally on May 9, with pre-registrations already available on both the Apple Store and the Google Play store. FX’s award-winning comedy series Atlanta will soon begin production in Europe on Seasons 3 and 4, according to Deadline. For those who need a refresher: Season 2, which aired all the way back in 2018, ended with Donald Glover’s Earn and Brian Tyree Henry’s Paper Boi on a plane to embark on the rapper’s first European tour.

Deadline is reporting that the cast is traveling to Europe on March 23, where both seasons will be shot concurrently, with a projected start date of April 5. FX Chief John Landgraf had mentioned in 2020 that Glover and his writing team benefited from an “unexpected boon” of productivity while in quarantine. Season 3 of Atlanta was originally expected to air in January 2021–but it looks like the wait will be worth it, according to Glover. In November, the multi-hyphenate actor declared on Twitter that the upcoming seasons “are going to be some of the best television ever made. Sopranos only ones who can touch us.”

Production will reportedly begin in London before continuing in Amsterdam and then Paris. All that’s known about the filming is it won’t exclusively take place in Europe.
